Dating back to colonial times, the hot buttered rum became an American classic as a warming winter cocktail. The recipe calls for warming together melted butter, a golden or aged rum, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg & allspice & hot water. Served piping hot with a cinnamon stick.
