OUR STORY

My husband & I began this company during the initial COVID lockdown after being furloughed & both unemployed for the first time ever in our lives. As parents of two young children, this was a scary prospect! From this uncertainty came a desire to find another source of revenue for our family.

For many years, I had wanted to do something with the beautiful bottles I watched be casually discarded on a daily basis in my career as a wine & spirit specialist. That is what led to the idea of making our candles in recycled bottles. My husband then spent the better part of a year honing his skills at glass cutting & polishing, while I mastered the craft of candle making & scent creation.

We are only on our second full year of business but already have so many ideas to expand & grow. Stay tuned as we further develop this passion project of ours!

OUR SCENTS

My custom scents are what really set Deconstructed Candles apart. Each scent is a custom creation. Having spent over a decade as a certified WSET level 2 Wine & Spirit Specialist, I am able to translate all of the layers of fruit, spices, herbs & textures of each beverage into elegant & fun scents for our candles.

OUR PROCESS

I hand pour each candle, use only the best high grade soy wax & premium fragrance oils. For wicks, I use mainly triple braided natural hemp & a variety of wooden styles as well. Occasionally I use a cotton wick when we need a smaller or thinner wick for a unique vessel.

OUR VESSELS

Our recycled bottles are hand cut & polished by my husband. The hand carved dough bowls are made by an etsy artist. Our collection of antique vintage glasses, teacups & silver are part of a passionate treasure hunt to find a use for these forgotten time capsules.
