History of the Moscow Mule goes back to 1940’s when a floundering vodka producer (Smirnoff...if you can believe it!) Created the cocktail in hopes of making vodka popular in the US. At the time, nobody was interested in vodka- they all preferred gin, whiskey or rum! They put it in a copper mug with fizzy & slightly spicy ginger “beer”, with a fresh lime garnish....& it was an instant hit!

Today, the Moscow mule has seen record growth in popularity & is current one of the top 5 cocktails sold in the US!
